This exhibition brings together contemporary craft artefacts created and designed in personal response to Truro Cathedral by invited 3rd year students from Falmouth University’s BA(Hons) Contemporary Crafts.
Jason Cleverly, Senior Lecturer on Contemporary Crafts, talks about this fantastic opportunity: “The Contemporary Crafts course at Falmouth has for some time worked closely with a range of external partners, exploring new forms of audience engagement with objects and places. The chance to work with Truro Cathedral presents an amazing opportunity; it’s been a fantastic experience to engage directly with not only the cathedral building, which in itself is an astonishing structure, but also the significant objects housed within. Many of these artifacts are fraught with fascinating stories and great metaphorical power. It’s been a really important and difficult challenge to create interpretive objects that liven up the building, the people and things that live there. We hope you like what we’ve done.”
Exhibition dates: 18 – 26 January 2014 10:30am – 5:00pm
