Open School East in residence at CAST next week


Open School East is a unique space that brings together a free study programme for emerging artists and a multifaceted programme of events and activities open to all.  The OSE Associates will be artists in residence at CAST from Monday to Friday next week, 20 – 24 July 2015.

Exercise and Breakfast Club – Join OSE Associates 7:30am each morning for exercise and breakfast inspired by artists and thinkers like Johannes Itten (Bauhaus) and Situationist artist and philosopher Asger Jorn.  Email for more information and to reserve a place.

Tuesday 21st July 11am – 4pm Cyanotype Workshop – A photography workshop with associate Tina Rowe. Weʼll be making photographic prints using collected materials from the local environment and sunlight to create cyanotypes that you can take away with you. Email to reserve a place.

Tuesday 21st July 7pm – 9pm Oral-history workshop – Help the associates find out more about Helston as they begin their stay at CAST. Come to share your experiences of living or working in Helston with the OSE associates. Light refreshments included.  Email to reserve a place.

Wednesday 22nd July 7pm – 9pm PechaKucha Night – OSE Associates will be presenting their work in the PechaKucha format – talking alongside 20 images which each last for 20 seconds.  Join them to find out more about their work, or come along to present your own work, thoughts, holiday snaps – anything. Email to reserve a place.

Friday 24th July 7pm – 9pm OSE Publication Launch – During the day OSE associates will make a publication about their time at CAST. Come along for a launch and farewell drinks, with music provided by associate DJ KornKob.
