Mark Surridge, Lecturer on BA(Hons) Fine Art had two pieces of work selected for The 2015 ING Discerning Eye Exhibition. This is an annual (twenty-fourth!) exhibition and works are independently selected by a panel of six prominent figures from different areas of the art world; two artists, two collectors and two critics. This years panel consisted of artists Emma Bridgewater and Nicole Farhi CBE, collectors Larry Lamb and Stephen Snoddy and critics Stephen Doherty and Steve Pill.
Work is selected from open submission and from artists invited by the individual selectors. The only restriction is a limitation of size, whereby only small, domestic scale works are permitted.
Mark submitted two pieces, Nash in the Woods selected by judge Stephen Snoddy and Notan Nash selected by judge Larry Lamb. Notan Nash (black and white) went on to win Mark the West Country Regional Prize. Mark attended the Private View which he described as ‘lively and enjoyable’.
The exhibition takes place 12 to 22 November 2015 open daily from 10am to 5pm at the Mall Galleries, the Mall, London SW1. Admission is free.
